Yep, that's what's in the trees.

Moody skies – Kangaroo Island

Looking through my Kangaroo Island images for Vivonne Bay images I was surprised at how moody the skies were there. Perhaps being an island facing the Southern Ocean has something to do with that. Anyway see for yourself…

Vivonne Bay

On the weekend I was watching a travel/caravanning show and they featured Kangaroo Island. One feature of the island that stood out was Vivonne Bay. The waters there are clear and emerald like. The beach was voted best beach in Australia by Sydney University. I have only one complaint with that and that is it's facing the Southern Ocean and over the horizon is Antarctica.

NZ waters

The colours of the rivers in NZ are so different from coast to coast.

Colourful waters

Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to travel around Australia and New Zealand. One thing I have noticed is how much the colour of the lakes, rivers and seas varies from place to place.

Here are several shots that I have taken around Australia.

Puri – 1978

I'm amazed that anyone can swim with six metres of cloth wrapped around them.

More clouds

For an hour or so there looked to be a storm coming from the north, to the south the sky was clear. Then as soon as it was gloomy the sky cleared and all was fine again.

Wilsons Promontory

Wilsons Promontory is a National Park in Victoria. There was great spring weather when I was there but that also meant dive bombing magpies.

Turkey – 1978

I only had a good look at the black and white image when I digitised the negatives around seven years ago.
